100% Gros Manseng. Beautiful bright, golden colour. Nicely intense and seductively aromatic nose. Impressions of pineapple, ripe pear, yellow peach and a fine hint of apricot play on the senses and lend the wine its strong exotic character. The finish balances nicely between sweet, rounded notes and exciting refreshing undertones.
Delicious with sugared and salted appetisers, duck or goose pate and mouldy cheeses.
- climate
-
Mild winters with regular rainfall, fairly wet springs and warm dry summers with alternating influence of the Pyrenees and the Atlantic Ocean. (Cooling) The alternation of warm days and cool nights gives Gros Manseng its unique tropical character here.
- soil
-
Calcareous clay soil with many mineral characteristics.
- vinification
-
The grapes are first fermented in temperature-controlled inox vats after which alcoholic fermentation is halted early by adding alcohol, leaving more residual sugar in the wine. The wine then rests further on its lie for 3 months before bottling.
